WME Microsoft 365 Updates No. 018

1. New Feature: Manage Table List Views with Security Roles in Microsoft Power Platform

Overview

The forthcoming enhancement in Microsoft Power Platform, slated for general availability on June 30, 2025, introduces a pivotal feature. The feature is going to empower admins with some proper nuanced control on table list views visibility via the strategic application of security roles.

This innovation is surely going to allow admins to assign system views based on the specific security roles of users. So, this is about refining the overall user experience as it provides a more customized data interaction framework. The impact of this feature extends far beyond mere access control. It basically promises a paradigm shift in data management, accessibility, and security.

Impact

The accessibility of system views will no longer be indiscriminate with this refinement. Instead, users will only be granted visibility to system views explicitly shared with their designated security roles.

This really huge advancement is sure to confine users to only the data pertinent to their roles. So this step basically streamlines your workflows while simultaneously reducing the likelihood of unauthorized access to sensitive/extraneous info. The change also aligns access more closely with your organizational roles/responsibilities and really enhances data governance.

Action Needed

At this juncture, no immediate action is required from users or admins of Power Platform.
