Data Deduplication Evaluation

When data deduplication is enabled on a Windows 2012 R2 server, an executable called ddpeval.exe gets dropped on the machine at C:\Windows\system32. This tool can be used to determine if data deduplication is worth it on your server. This exe can be copied to other Windows operating systems and executed there as well, even against network resources.

To execute, run command like this:

ddpeval.exe <target>

Examples:

ddpeval.exe E:

ddpeval.exe E:\folder1

ddpeval.exe \\server1\share1
